We celebrated July 4th on July 3rd this year. It just isn’t the same. And having the big shindig on the wrong day was not all that was wrong. MH’s mother, Aunt Helen, and Aunt Louise began the family tradition of having the family reunion on July 4th decades ago. Now the last one of them is gone, and the one who left us most recently was the one who loved it the most.In spite of things not being quite right on account of the loved ones who’ve passed away, we went ahead with the celebration and I can say with all certainty that the children still had a big time. I think the best thing I can share today is the photos of the little ones who enjoyed the day in spite of the heat and humidity. I got to try out my new camera lens, a 50mm prime lens. I decided pretty quick that it will probably be my favorite.
You stay cool any way you can in this weather. These boys thought that ice cubes to the head might do the trick.
Eli is getting ready to hit one out of the yard. This event always calls for a ball game.
Sorry fellas, but ya'll kinda look like the Mafia. That oldest one looks like he could be the Boss of Poplar Grove!
