The Color Yellow

"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."

The idea for the photo came from the Digital Photography School. I get regular e-mails from Darren Rowse with www.digital-photography-school.com. The weekend photography challenge was the color yellow. I had little to choose from. I could have headed to the cornfield as the corn husks are popping open to reveal the plump yellow kernels inside, but the heat and mosquitoes are keeping me away. Then I thought of the these beautiful yellow, amber, and white stained glass angels that a relative gave me. These were handmade by a Mississippi artisan and I have a rather large collection of them. I guess I took 200 photos trying to get something really good. I never enter the contests, but the challenges and the tips I get from the DPS site are really inspiring and helpful.
I have a friend who always attaches the friends/angels quote to her e-mail messages. I don’t know who to credit the quote to, so whoever it originated with, I can only ask forgiveness for failure to give due credit - it was not born in my own brain.
What would we do without our friends? It is with disappointment that I must cancel a trip next week that I’ve looked forward to for a long time. I have planned for some months to get together with dear friends at a very special location next week. Alas, the library project calls me to stay at home. But maybe my fabulous sewing friends (you know who you are) will help me celebrate the grand opening of Dyer County’s new library one of these days. We are kicking off our Capital Campaign on August 1. Please wish our team lots of success.
Have a wonderful weekend.
