Well, I guess the joke’s on me! MH and I are rambling around in a house we built when there were 5 children still at home. I wish I’d been a little more far-sighted at the time and realized that they wouldn’t be sticking around forever, but we’d been cramped in a small house for way too long. Yesterday I walked into a seldom used half-bath and this is what I saw. I’ve heard of Christmas in July, but this is ridiculous! To celebrate Christmas in July, I went out late yesterday afternoon to try (yet again) to learn how to use the long zoom lens I’ve been so unsuccessful with in the past. My luck was only a little bit better, but I did get these pretty good Christmas in July presents. The photos may not be great, but the subject matter I love.
I caught my sister out in the sunflower field getting photos of her adorable grandchildren. This is Ethan. My shot is taken from a long distance. This has been tightly cropped as my sister would have killed me if I'd included her backside, which was part of the original shot! Oh, if I only knew Photoshop.... that long blade of grass wouldn't still be on the side of Ethan's head. That child is a char-act-er! I'd have never been able to get him still long enough to photograph him had I been up close.
Having grown up in the family of Anheuser Busch wholesalers, I'm quite familiar with the slogan "This Bud's for You", but I guess I'll have to name this picture of Maggie "This Bloom's for You".
These 2 are cousins born about 2 months apart. I think they are so cute.
Have a sunny Christmas in July kind of day!

Adorable! I can't wait to have some grandchildren of my own. My boys just haven't settled down though. I suppose I shouldn't rush them. You are brave to get out in this heat. I've been locked in my sewing room and almost finished a quilt since the heat wave started. I'm done with the top and have it sandwiched ready to quilt..... ready for the frigid days of winter.
I never knew how much I'd love photography, but it seems like I'm oblivious to the discomfort of the outdoors this time of year if I've got that camera in my hand. Wish my own grandchildren would allow me to photograph them, but they are a little older and run when they see the camera.
Yes, don't rush your boys. Marriages turn out bad far too frequently nowadays.
I've got a quilt I need to get back to but the AC unit is out upstairs. It should be fixed today. I am in high hopes of it.
